'They Could Have Stayed Forever' by Kate van der Drift comprises of large scale, high-key outdoor scenes of abandoned holiday places. The series explores the idea or feeling that there has been some kind of change. The world has shifted in a different direction. People have left, migrated or found another planet to inhabit. The end of one thing and the begining of something new, where the land will regenerate and something else will bloom. The photographs are quiet and still and convey a beautiful eeriness.
