Kate van der Drift
Kate van der Drift is opening her exhibition of two series of
new photographic works at Mint Gallery this Friday 30th November at
5:30pm. 'They Could Have Stayed Forever' comprises of large scale,
high-key outdoor scenes of abandoned holiday places. 'Still Life
and Still Hope' responds to this, continuing the same theme yet
using contrasting subject matter and photographic technique.
Both series explore an idea or feeling that there has been some
kind of change, the world has been shifted in a different
direction. People have left, migrated or found another planet to
inhabit. It is not sad but hopeful. Both series are quiet, still
and convey a beautiful eeriness.
Come down to Mint to have a look at these visually
impacting works which are on show until 21st December.
