Marie Strauss Ceramics

'Sounds and Shapes' is an upcoming concert and exhibition which will include the ceramic work of Mint Gallery artist Marie Strauss. The concert (details below) is on Thursday 10 August.

Marie's works from the show will be exhibitied at Mint Gallery, opening Friday 1 September.

Join internationally renowned NZ guitarist Matthew Marshall, cellist Heleen duPlessis and painter, ceramist and designer, Marie Strauss for a feast of your eyes and ears in an exhibition of exquisite shapes and sounds. The combination of music for guitar and cello and ceramic artworks creates interactions, associations, acceptance, cohesion and connection, promoting an environment of well-being for living beings and creatures and the freedom to be themselves regardless of difference in shape or sound. The romantic Latin American inspired music and sculptural ceramic vases/creatures evoke a sense of the ancient and lost, the forgotten and dreamt, evasive, suggestive and romantic. Amongst well-known works, the programme includes a world premiere of Anthony Ritchie's Autumn Moods in the first concert of a concert tour continuing on the North Island.
