Dunedin artist Philip Madill opens his new show 'Conjunctures'
at Mint Gallery Friday 30th May.
Combining a knowledge of history with his precise and engaging
drawing style, Madill has produced a series of works examining the
industrialisation of virtual technology over the last two hundred
years. Referencing both rapid technological change and its
long-term social impacts, the works take the form of a series of
interconnecting timeframes; a concept inspired by the work of
French Annales historian Fernand Braudel.
Since 2011, Philip Madill has exhibited across New Zealand
and been recognised in several art awards, including as a three
times Wallace Art Awards finalist. Philip recently completed
his Master of Fine Arts with Distinction.
